You have possibly seen others perform this excellent effect usually with small paper clips and a banknote. The banknote is folded and the paper clips attached to it. When the banknote is unfolded the paper clips jump off the note and are now found linked together as if by magic! With practice you can catch the clips as they fly in the air. Various routines and variations have been published to this excellent concept over the years.
In the routine that Eddie is releasing giant paper clips and a sheet of white cardboard are used (although you can still work the routine with small paper clips and a banknote). To a rather naughty patter story (not suitable for the Vicar’s garden party) the above effect is now performed with hilarious results when the two paper clips become linked together.
