You show eight different laminated cards faces upwards, explaining that using mind control you are going to cause a spectator to choose a certain one of these cards.
Your spectator has a free choice of any one of the cards and may change their mind as often as they wish until they finally settle on just one card. You ask, “Are you sure that you had a completely free choice?” You participant must reply yes because they really have.
One by one you now show the backs of the rejected cards and let us say they have all BLUE backs.
Once again you stress that the spectator has confirmed her free choice of any card and you ask her to turn it face down, she does so and it is the only RED backed card in your packet of BLUE backed cards as you say, “Then if you had a free choice how do you explain this?”
Without question this is one of the very best pocket tricks ever and it is very easy to do requiring no skill; if you can count cards you can do this in less than twenty minutes or so of opening the packet.
