A classic of magic that is suitable for cabaret, club or stage performances as well as your Children's shows. Featured in the programmes of many famous magicians.
Very easy to do requiring just a little handling practice.
Two sticks or wands have strings threaded through them with pom-poms on their ends. When one string is pulled down the other goes up (and vice-versa).
The spectators are convinced that the two sticks are connected with the string going through both sticks. So you separate them at the front end and they still work; when one string is pulled down the other goes up (and vice-versa).
Again the audience think they have the secret; the cords go down each stick and are connected at the opposite end!
So you show that even when the sticks are completely separated they still work so that when one string is pulled down the other goes up (and vice-versa).
To their amazement, you demonstrate to them that they are not connected in any way.
Finally both strings become long so with a magical pass both strings become short ones! It is amazing and very funny to watch, making this a great classical comedy magic effect.
