Three sealed envelopes are shown. You explain that just one envelope contains something of major value, while the other two contain just pieces of paper. Two spectators each freely choose one of the envelopes, leaving you with the third. The spectators are given several opportunities to change their mind. The first spectator opens his envelope, to discover it contains just a slip of paper. The second spectator opens their envelope, in which they find two small consolation prizes, one for each participant. Although you did not choose the envelope you hold, you open yours to discover a crisp £20 note inside!
