A ‘sucker’ type trick in more ways than one! A bold image of an empty tumbler is seen through a cut-out window on a stiff cardboard envelope. It’s removed and shown and replaced.
Displaying the back of the envelope towards the audience, you ask the children to pretend they have drinking straws.
You then asks them to blow down through their imaginary straws.
When the envelope is reversed through the cut-out window is the tumbler card, but the tumbler has now magically filled with a red drink!
The children must surely have blown the pop into the tumbler!
A further request is made – the children being asked to suck through their invisible straws this time, so as to drain the liquid from the tumbler.
All the children do, but when the tumbler picture is shown, the tumbler still appears to have red liquid inside it.
Removing the card from inside the envelope, the children clearly see the red liquid vanish into thin air and the tumbler has a cut-out hole in the card where the red liquid used to be!
The children can see straight through the hole but haven't a clue where the liquid has vanished to! The envelope is otherwise empty.
