Adair's Eye-Spy Chart
Adair's Eye-Spy Chart
Product ID: 3712
Self-contained, self-working & easy to do! Comedy magic at its very best! Here is a novel way to reveal a chosen playing card. This one is visual and unusual, and features comedy patter.
A spectator selects a playing card from a deck, but doesn’t reveal its suit or value at this stage.
An ‘eye-chart’ is introduced by you, showing a large card with the wording EYE CHART
in bold letters on one side. The other side has the usual lines of letters which gradually become smaller. You ask the spectator, “Have you had your eyes tested recently? If not, you may not be able to read my prediction. Have a test now it will only take a few moments.”
You point to the first line of the chart (with only one letter E) and ask the spectator to read it. “Well done, I thought you would get that one, now try the second line.”
The spectator reads this line of letters O I C U, and you quip, “Oh, I see you too.”
Pointing to the last line on the chart (tiny little letters) you ask the spectator to have a try at reading these. The letters are so small they are impossible to read. “Let me read them for you,” You say, “It says, you need to go to Specsavers!”
Now for the card revelation. The back of the chart is shown again but in a flash it opens up and swings across the front of the line of letters. Suddenly a cut-out panel appears and only one line of letters is visible through it. You ask the spectator to read them aloud, these being Q O F H. “Ah" you say, "This also reads QUEEN OF HEARTS - my prediction of your chosen card.”
But that’s not all, for the back of the chart is once again reversed so that the audience can see the same bold Eye Chart sign, but beneath it is a picture of a playing card – the Queen of Hearts!
Review: “I spy, with my little eye, something beginning with the letter S – STAR, five of them in a row ***** it’s a five-star effect suitable for platform, TV or close-up work." EB.
Comes with hinged Eye Chart (approx 8.25 x 6", 21 x 15cm when closed) & instructions. Use your own deck of playing cards.
