Two gift bags are displayed in full view as you explain each one possibly contains a very special dream prize, like £20,000 or a world cruise, or they may just contain booby prizes such as a ‘pie in the face.’
A well shuffled pack of playing cards is introduced and two volunteers are each given half the deck.
The first volunteer shuffles his packet, turns them faces upwards and then selects any card while they are in his own hands. Let’s say he picks a Four.
He is handed a card that lists the names of the ten different, “Dream prizes” and reads out the prize indicated by his freely chosen number – let’s say he calls out, “Canned drink”. He opens his gift bag (no exchange) and it is a can of drink suitable to the occasion! However, he has missed out on one of the larger main prizes.
The second volunteer now selects any face down card from her packet (again no exchange) and let’s say she picks a Ten, the tenth prize on the self-same list proves to be Chocolate. She now opens her gift bag (positively no exchange), this contains a bar or box of chocolates - depending on the size of your fee for the show!
