The hunt is on for Houdini who has escaped from his prison cell but can you find him?
You show three laminated pictures one of Houdini and the other two are prison guards, each large enough for close-up and walkabout shows. The cards have pictures of prison bars on their backs. The Houdini card is now turned with his back towards the audience and mixed with the other face-up cards both showing prison guard pictures, the three cards are mixed, and one guard is also turned face down.
The spectators are now invited to guess which of the two face-down cards is Houdini, hunting the master magician down with the intention of locking him up forever and throwing away the key. But no matter which card they choose, they fail to find the elusive Houdini. One card is now removed still leaving two faces down and thus improving the spectators’ odds – still they fail to pick out the escape artiste.
It’s great fun as the last two cards are turned faces down but always, they miss the Houdini card. Only one face down card left in your hand – surely it must be Harry Houdini himself – but no, for when this final card is turned over it too is a prison guard, the elusive Houdini has disappeared completely.
Where is the missing prisoner? Well, you take him from your pocket or elsewhere, where you claim he has been right from the start! Houdini’s Great Escape is based on a true Houdini story. Great fun and easy to do.
