You explain to your audience that during the dark and stormy nights of last winter you grew concerned there will be power cuts and you would be left in the dark. To prevent this possibility, you invested in four candles to light up your life.
Offering to show some pictures of these candles you show four candle picture cards, all of which are unlit; saying that you have also invested is an invisible lighter that you display in your hand. Really, of course, your hand is completely empty.
Ignoring any comments from your spectators, you hold your hand as if holding a cigarette lighter and press the top down with your thumb, which is then shot upright as you remark what a good bright flame it has, of course the audience cannot see anything extraordinary. As proof of your invisibility claim, you apply the “invisible flame” from your thumb to each of the candles and show them in turn with their wicks burning brightly!
No difficult sleight of hand, no rough & smooth or sticky stuff is used. All four cards can be left for examination at the finish.
