The Mind Projection theory was first described by physicist and Bayesian philosopher E. T. Jaynes. and is the idea of one person being able to mentally project an idea or thought into the mind of another person.
You show a deck of playing cards front and back, it can be clearly seen that all fifty-two cards are present. You explain that you have secretly marked ONE of the cards with a cross and you will attempt to project the name of that card into the mind of an audience member.
You select a suitable person, asking them to make their mind a blank and then you concentrate on a card; the participant names the first playing card from a deck of fifty-two that comes into their mind. They really do have a free choice of card; positively no force method is used.
The freely named card is openly removed from the deck and placed onto their outstretched palm. Again the deck is shown front and back. Anyone turns over the freely selected card and will almost drop the card in surprise – there clearly marked on the card they merely though of, is a solid black cross permanently marked in black ink!
Please note the following points: The deck is always ready to perform. The black cross mark on the card is permanent, no secret stamp, label, transfer or anything similar is used. Any playing card can be freely named – positively no force or counting to a particular card. The cards are immediately re-set for repeat performance, making the effect ideal for your close-up and walkabout shows. You use only one full deck of fifty-two playing cards, no extras or double-backs. Everyone present will love this one – and the participant will be completely baffled by your magic.
