Based on Billy McCombe’s McCombical Prediction, Eddie has developed a new and easier way to perform this unbeatable classic without using sleights, roughing fluid, sticky stuff etc and using ordinary poker or jumbo playing cards.
This is an adaptation of Billy McCombe’s brilliant effect but should NOT be confused with the stage & cabaret version that we sell – the working and presentation are totally different!
McCombical Cards is intended for Both close-quarter work such as working Stand up.
A spectator is placed to one side and you explain to the
audience that he or she is to be given a free selection from a number of jumbo size (approx 9.5cm x 14.5 cm) playing cards stressing that he will receive a free choice of any one
But asking the spectators NOT to name the cards as shown, these are counted from hand to hand and the audience are highly amused to see that the spectator will not receive a free choice at all as all the cards are duplicates of each other.
You now remove one of the cards again that it duplicates all the others which is left in full view at all times –
This you say is your prediction of the card that the spectator is about to “freely select!” At this point the participant does select one which he then holds with its face down.
Talking about your miracle you remove the Prediction card and hold it in full view – the participant now shows you his chosen card – which proves to be not the one everyone expected but an entirely different one -
You look nonplussed for a moment and pausing, you look at your prediction card and then add, “.....and here is Queen of Diamonds!” or whatever the wrong card proves to be. So saying you turn the card over in your hand to show it exactly matches the selected one
