A spectator correctly identifies the position of your “Educated card” in a facedown packet of playing cards, simply by spelling their mother's or their own first name, together with a small freely thought of number.

In March 1995 ‘Daryl - The Magician’s Magician’ released an effect called The Key Card by Ken Ring of Australia.
Daryl said, “It was an interesting effect effect because it had a terrific surprise finish!” I stocked it and demonstrated it frequently, it was very popular as there were no gimmicks involved and in performing it reset itself automatically.
When Daryl introduced me to this item he told me it was a mathematical principle that was so amazing even he didn’t even know how it worked.
Effect: A packet of playing cards is given to any spectator. The spectator merely thinks of anyone’s name and any small number.
The spectator then deals through the cards spelling out the thought-of name and dealing out the selected number. Amazingly, the magical Key Card is found at the mentally selected number!
After many performances I came up with my special surprise applause-pulling climax. It is practically self-working and very easy to do.
