Two playing cards are selected by members of your audience and you show a jumbo sized prediction plaque that is the correct suit for both the spectator’s chosen playing cards.
But the participants tell you it is not the right value for either card so you turn over your prediction plaque saying, “Oops wrong side!” now showing the Four of Diamonds.
Still wrong, turn it over again and show the Three of Diamonds on its third side, wrong again, turn it once more and it is the Six of Diamonds.
The way the values keep on changing is fascinating to watch.
There really are only two sides to the plaque, yet as you patter you name four sides, each with a different number of red diamonds showing on each side.
But clearly you need some magical help, and the next time you show your prediction plaque your special pet serpent Sammy has appeared on it, who hisses that he has magically caused a fresh card to appear on the opposite side of the card.
you turn it over to show it’s the Fourteen of Diamonds, “Still wrong” claim your audience adding their is no such card in the deck.
Claiming that Simon is never wrong, you ask the two spectators to name their chosen cards, they reply, the Nine of Diamonds and the Five of Diamonds.
“That’s it” you claim, “nine and five total fourteen - this snake is an Adder!”
