By taking two of my favourite mental methods and binding them into single routine, Knockout Mental was born and has lived in my close-up performances for many years to great acclaim. I am releasing it here for the very first time.
While your back is turned, a spectator writes their own or the name of a friend living or dead, on a small slip of paper which in turn is then burnt to ashes,
“Thus the chosen secret name is firmly implanted in the spectator’s mind.”
Three playing cards are dealt faces upwards on a flat surface and the box of matches that were used to burn the name, (and again with your back turned) is used to spell the chosen name one letter at a time passing from one playing card to the next, then finally left on the last letter of the secret name.
Incredibly you have correctly predicted that very playing card, and can now go on to also reveal this secret name that your spectator has only in her mind!
