I love this type of pocket trick, as you can take it out out to perform whenever someone says, “Show me a trick.” No set-up and no skill required, just do it then and there.
You remove a small packet of Laminated cards from your pocket and count them faces down into a pile, let’s say all these cards have red backs (colours may vary), you then take out two more cards with blue backs and lay them face down to one side.
You start to deal the red-backed cards one-by-one into a pile and invite a spectator to call stop on any card, when they do so, you invited them to place one of the blue-backed cards face down on the card they stopped you at.
This sequence is then repeated a second time, so that two blue backs inserted onto two different positions on red-backed cards by your spectator.
The blue-backed cards are then removed from the face down packet together with the two red-backed cards next to them, and when these four cards are turned faces upwards they are a perfect match for each other, let us say they are all four a King of Diamonds!
Your suspicious audience immediately ask to see the rest of the face down cards, in fact they will often without asking you, turn them face upwards themselves, and what a shock they receive when they all prove to be blank-faced cards as you quip, “I could only afford four king of diamonds!” Causing laughter & applause all round.
All the cards can be left for examination (no switch), no sleights are used, very easy to perform. Available in two sizes regular Poker size and Table-hopping size (please note Table-hopping size are laminated and the four cards are Joker pictures).
