Charming storybook tale illustrated with magic.
You remove a picture out of an ordinary envelope that depicts Aladdin in a bright RED costume, explaining that he has a Magic Lamp which he could polish with his sleeve and the genie inside the lamp would grant him a magical wish. The picture is put back in the envelope.
All the children pretend they have an invisible magic lamp and rub it to work some magic at the same time calling out the magic word - after which you remove the card to show Aladdin looking really smart has changed into the colour BLUE.
You decide to do the magic in reverse just to show your magic is better than the Genie of the Lamp’s and you again remove the card to show Aladdin has changed back into the his original colour of bright RED. This is repeated several times; first it is red and then blue and so forth.
The children are not fooled however, for you keep turning the envelope around and the children suspect the card is just double-sided.
You remove the card with the RED side facing the audience then after the usual fun of the, “Turn it around!” business you do as the children demand showing amazingly that the blue side has magically changed in to a The Genie of the Lamp but the canny children are still not fooled they want to know what is inside the envelope.
A small child is allowed to reach inside the envelope to prove it is empty and says he can feel something within. He takes it out to reveal it is the genie’s Lamp. As to the suspect envelope, you tear it open to show it is completely empty to prove that YOUR magic is real!
