Colour Chips Influence has been one of my favourite close-up effects for many years. Originally I performed it with borrowed coins, but changed it to coloured gambling chips to make it more appealing to the ladies and especially when borrowing coins became more difficult due to people no longer carrying them at posh functions.
From a small cloth bag you remove a card (business card, blank card or paper) on which you have previously written a prediction, this is placed prediction side down in full view and not touched by you again (no switching or nail writers etc are used).
From the bag are tipped three unfaked gambling chips in three individual colours.
A spectator examines them and he then drops one chip back into the bag, takes one for himself and gives one to you.
It is obvious to everyone that he has used his own free will and made his own decisions, changing his mind if he wishes.
Once he is satisfied, your prediction which has not been touched by anyone is now read out loud word for word, and correctly predicts exactly where he has placed the three coloured chips!
Everything can be left for examination, there is no clue to how you did it, giving everyone the firm impression that somehow you controlled his mind.
This stunner is easy to do, no sleight of hand or similar is involved.
