We decided to call this close-up stunner ‘Xactly Correct’ because the magician marks a playing card with a large X and after performing it this way we realised that the card could be marked in some other manner perhaps with your initials on the card or ‘This is your card’ or ‘Your lucky card’. The choice is yours and you can choose almost any mark you wish on the chosen card. Anyway, let’s have a look at what happens - we will describe it with the simple X mark.
Your audience are shown a deck of Poker sized playing cards both front and back, a spectator is asked to merely think of any card in a deck of fifty-two. She can change her mind if she wishes.
Apparently reading her mind you tell her you are going to mark the card you sense she is simply thinking about.
Taking a marker pen you turn your back or place your hands under the table and proceed to mark a card.
Holding the deck in plain sight you now ask the lady to name the card she is simply thinking of and she does so.
You then reveal her freely named card to be the only one in the deck with a large bold X marked upon it!
A super baffling close-up routine, no sleights are involved and the trick cannot fail.
